Mark your calendars!

Finally! (I know, I know, we've been told tons of times how quickly we will regret this moment!) Gubby took his first set of steps on his own! He now knows how to stand and how to walk but has yet to do them in combination...look out low-lying fun stuff!

No News isn't Always Good News

Well, just a little update to keep y'all posted-turns out I did not get the job I was hoping for at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare...it boiled down to not being available when they needed me to start and to cover someone else's maternity leave (that happened to coincide with mine almost exactly). On top of that...I found out I was not selected for a fellowship at Florida State University in the College of Social Work-although this doesn't mean I won't be admitted to the doctoral program (still won't know until after March 1, 2011), it means my funding would be drastically reduced.

Let the snowballing continue-Gubby managed to climb onto the couch (woo, new skill!) but then tumble off and hit his head on the train table on his way down. Meanwhile, we weren't able to get our fire started as the house quickly gets cool at night...ugh. Long night...don't fret, though-Gubby's fine :)

Love you all so very much and please keep our friends, David and Joyce, in your prayers. They are enduring some medical hardships and need our support-thanks!

Christmas 2010

A very Merry Christmas from our family to yours! We were able to spend the vacation in Daytona Beach with my family. We got to go see Christmas lights at a nearby neighborhood that really goes all out and of course, open lots of presents! Despite the season having kicked off a bit odd (we just found out that Eckerd Youth Alternatives is closing my program here in Tallahassee and I will be effectively jobless as of March 31), we had a wonderful trip. Don't fret, though! I have enough PTO to take off paid leave from February 9th through my delivery (which will hopefully be an induction around the end of March)...I will be able to utilize my short term disability for the maternity leave. Though it's not a full paycheck, its something! I've already interviewed at the local hospital for a social work position at the behavioral health center (inpatient psychiatry). I will be sure to keep everyone posted but keep us in your prayers! Love you all!

Thanks, Opa and Nonna for our fancy train table! I'm sure Gubby will be all over it shortly!

Here's Gubby giving his little sister some lovin'! Hugs for the little girl!

New pajamas for the whole family!

Hey there, ladies!

Gubby and Pawpaw on the world famous swing! (And that's Riley's bum, too!)

Chicago

Mike and I recently made a short trip to Chicago to take part in the services for his recently deceased Grandfather, Thomas Prost, Sr. We spent each evening in our hotel at the kids pool and here are a few pictures from our fun times!

Procrastinators of the world, unite! Ok-maybe tomorrow!

I will be the first one to admit that my intentions, though sincere, to update this blog regularly are constantly blocked by other (normally more pressing-like sleep) obligations! Please forgive my infrequent posts but know that we love you all very much! Here are some pictures from Gabriel's first birthday party!

Winter Nights

It's 1am and it's approximately 27 degrees outside. It's toasty in here-woodstove going, Christmas tree all lit up-I can't breathe because of my cold/pregnancy nose...I'm just waiting for my email server to update in order to send my weekly paperwork in that I've worked so dilegently on since 7pm this evening. 6 hours of work and I'm unable to email it.

I did, however, have some oreos and vanilla yogurt a bit ago (despite being unable to taste either-which is just not fair) so baby bean #2 is wide awake. It's humorous to see my shirt move-I wonder if she could type through my belly if I put the keyboard close enough to my stomach :)

Work has been awful-three child abuse reports in two weeks, ongoing beaurcracy that has left our team exhausted, and a holiday season that looks no less exciting. Mike's job is quickly closing up shop as the semester ends in four days. I will be interested to see what the spring brings-a new location? new hours? a whole new job? Keep us in your prayers. We will also know by January if I was accepted into the Doctoral program at FSU in the College of Social Work-but if we have one 'breadwinner' out of the bakery-should I go back to school now? Needless to say we are faced with many new circumstances this spring and I'm hopeful we make it though in one piece! Gubby is doing splendidly and will be celebrating his first birthday in just 5 short days-what a year its been! He has 5 teeth, toddles quite well with his walker, and can stand briefly for several seconds or so on his own. He eats nearly anything but will quickly become picky if tired. Other than that-we still love him! Ha! He finally began sleeping regularly from 730ish to 6ish each night with a wake up call in the middle of the night occurring only once a week or less. We have been working hard to keep his schedule despite ours. We hope that we can have him in a routine like clockwork by the time March 28 (our tentative due date) arrives.

We love and miss you all and pray for each of you often-please keep us in yours-we need them now more than ever!

It's a Girl!

We are slow (but steady) in this race but wanted to let our loved ones know our little girl is set for arrival around March 26, 2011. Pictures to come soon!
